7 Places for Ski Joring in New England
Note: Please speak with your veterinarian and get the okay before ski joring with your dog.
Ski Joring: What is it?
Ski joring means “pulling” or “driving” when using harnessed dogs or horses. Think of it as like cross-country skiing with your pups. With basic commands and training, as well as investments in proper harnesses, tether, and a waist belt, you can train a single or pair or dogs to assist your momentum while you’re on the trails. New England has a lot of places for you to experience ski joring with your dog(s).
Safety First! Remember, your dog must be at least 35 pounds, enjoys running and exercise, and is trained with voice commands. We recommend that you talk with your veterinarian before engaging your dog in high-intensity activities like ski joring.
